     Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and Western U.S.

     Whey protein concentrate 34% prices held steady this week. Market views reported by industry
     contacts are mixed. Some manufacturers say infant formula buyers are taking all the WPC 34%
      they can produce, and food accounts are pushing up orders. But domestic pricing for WPC
     34% that is interchangeable with other protein sources is under pressure from falling nonfat
     dry milk prices. Some manufacturers suggest it is difficult to push for higher prices in
     those markets. Inventories are balanced to tight. WPC34% production is steady, but only a
     limited number of companies manufacture it.
