Process Verified Point(s):

  • USDA Certified Tender according to ASTM F2925-11*.
    • Derived from carcasses with designated destination codes that meet Meyer Natural Angus (MNA) specifications.
    • Only box beef subprimals which have reached 14 days from the date of slaughter or 12 days from the date of fabrication are allowed for use in the USDA Certified Tender program.
    • At the point of further processing or retail store cutting, all requirements must be confirmed prior to labeling as USDA Certified Tender.
    • Only approved processors or retailers which have been trained to execute the program can be compliant.
  • USDA Certified Very Tender according to ASTM F2925-11*.
    • Derived from carcasses with designated destination codes that meet MNA specifications.
    • Only box beef subprimals which have reached 21 days from the date of slaughter or 19 days from the date of fabrication are allowed for use USDA Certified Very Tender program.
    • At the point of further processing or retail store cutting, all requirements must be confirmed prior to labeling as USDA Certified Very Tender.
    • Only approved processors or retailers which have been trained to execute the program can be compliant.
  • Imported Uruguayan Beef USDA Certified Tender according to ASTM F2925-11*.
    • Imported Uruguayan boxed beef must be aged a minimum of 55 days from the date of fabrication.
    • At point of further processing or retail store cutting, all requirements must be confirmed prior to labeling as USDA Certified Tender.
    • Only approved processors or retailers which have been trained to execute the program can be compliant.
