Today the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announces two new Export Form Certificates that will be used to certify exports to Canada and shipments of apples and table grapes to other destinations around the world. The FV-205 Certificate of Inspection for Canadian Destinations and the FV-207 Export Form Certificate were merged to create a new SC-205 Export Form Certificate and a SC-205-1 Export Form Certificate. Applicants may continue to receive the FV-205/205-1 and FV-207/207-1 certificates until the current supply is depleted.
The new hard copy SC-205 Export Form Certificate will be used by Federal and Federal-State Inspection Service graders to certify products to Canadian destinations and shipments of apples and table grapes to other destinations around the world.
The change in the form identifier from “FV” to “SC” is due to the change in the name of the USDA program from Fruit and Vegetable Program (FV) to Specialty Crops Program (SC).
Applicants operating under the Specialty Crops Inspection (SCI) Division’s Partners In Quality (PIQ) program will use the new hard copy SC-205-1 Export Form Certificate (Under a Documented Quality Assurance System), which replaces the hard copy versions of the FV-205-1 and FV-207-1.
The electronic FV-E205 and FV-E207, generated by SCI’s Fresh Electronic Inspection Reporting/Resource System (FEIRS), will remain in use to certify products to Canadian destinations and shipments of apples and table grapes to other destinations around the world, respectively.
The forms’ merger was approved by the Office of Management of Budget (OMB) on September 26, 2016. OMB approved a three-year term for their use. USDA issued a notice for public comment in the Federal Register on Aug. 19, 2016. The comment period closed on Oct. 17, 2016. No comments were received.
The SC-205 and SC-205-1 Export Form Certificates are available in the Forms section of the Resources page of USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service website.
