The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today published a notice in the Federal Register withdrawing the proposed rule to amend 7 CFR parts 56, 62 and 70 (insert link when available). The proposed rule would have amended the Quality Systems Verification Programs (QSVP) by removing the reference to “Livestock, Meat, and Other Commodities” from the regulation title, defining the type of programs and services offered and updating administrative items.
Based upon a review of comments received on the proposed rule, the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will develop a more comprehensive proposed rule covering all AMS voluntary audit-based, user-fee services under part 62 that is applicable to all commodities covered by the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946, as amended.
