The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will meet to discuss substances petitioned for addition to or deletion from the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List), substances due to sunset from the National List in 2026, and recommendations on organic policies. The meeting will be held in person and broadcast live via Zoom.
The NOSB typically meets twice per year in various locations around the United States. Prior to meetings, the NOSB reviews written public comments and listens to oral public comments. During meetings, the NOSB discusses agenda items, and then votes on recommendations to the Secretary in a public forum. Detailed meeting information, including agendas, locations, proposals, and public comments, will be posted below as it becomes available. The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) invites the public to submit written comments and/or provide oral comments at its Fall 2024 business meeting. The deadline to submit written public comments and requests for oral comment speaking slots was September 30, 2024.
Written Comments

Oral Comments
Oral comment registration is full for the online webinars and the in-person meeting.
The Board will hear comments during the dates and times shown below.
- Tuesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 17, Noon - 5:00 pm Eastern, virtually via Zoom.
- Tuesday October 22: In person in Portland, Oregon: Approximately 2:00 - 5:00 pm Pacific Time.
- Commenters have been scheduled in the order in which they registered. Where possible, scheduling requests have been accommodated.
- Commenters are limited to ONE 3-minute speaking slot.
- After registering, each commenter should have received an email with more detailed instructions for providing oral testimony, including the Zoom links to join the webinars.
