Grades of Frozen French Fried Potatoes
- U.S. Grade A (or U.S. Fancy) is the quality of frozen french fried potatoes, except strip style, short length, that:
- have a good flavor;
- have a good color;
- are practically uniform in size and symmetry;
- are practically free from defects;
- possess a good texture; and
- score not less than 90 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outline in this subpart.
- U.S. Grade B (or U.S. Extra Standard) is the quality of frozen french fried potatoes that:
- have a reasonably good flavor;
- have a reasonably good color;
- are reasonably uniform in size and symmetry;
- are reasonably free from defects;
- possess a reasonably good texture; and
- score not less than 80 points when scored in accordance with the scoring system outline in this subpart.
- Substandard is the grade of frozen french fried potatoes that fail to meet the requirements of U.S. Grade B.
