The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is revising the U.S. Standards for Grades of Processed Raisins.
AMS is modifying the standards by removing all references to the term “midget.” This change will modernize and clarify the standards by removing dual terminology for the same requirement.
The final rule will be published in the June 23, 2016, Federal Register, and will be effective July 25, 2016. To view these Federal Register publications, visit www.regulations.gov. You can access the revised raisin standards after the effective date at: www.ams.usda.gov/grades-standards/fruits.
