BACKGROUND

When selling trains at Origin Weights and grades, officially inspected and certified, trains reach destination with another agency grading while or before unload. Inconsistency is found more now than in the last 5-10 years in the variances in origin verse destination grade factors. While shipment may be sold origin, end user may contest and want renegotiation of contract or discounts or possible rejection.

Factors that seem more subjective are the largest issue; odor or color.
Transit time may also be a contributing factor.

OBJECTIVES AND DISCUSSION

Determine issues that may contribute to the variant grades between agencies. Other topics in session may tie to possible solutions in this area

The Grain Inspection Advisory Committee will have the opportunity to discuss this topic at the December meeting and provide guidance on how to move forward.
