The Forest County Potawatomi Community (“FCPC” or “Tribe”), a Federally Recognized Tribe, will distribute approximately 4,500 food boxes to Native Americans in Forest County, Wisconsin and surrounding counties. The project will also support additional food distributions to tribal elders through Feeding Wisconsin’s Tribal Elder Food Box Program. To implement the project, FCPC will work in partnership with Bodwéwadmi Ktëgan, a socially disadvantaged food producer, to package, purchase, and distribute monthly food boxes to four distribution points within the tribal community. The project aims to support Native American families in Northern Wisconsin who are struggling with the rising cost of food, and also strives to strengthen Tribal food sovereignty and security by expanding capacity at Bodwéwadmi Ktëgan.
