Lummi Nation LFPA Plus Executive Summary

The Lummi Nation’s main purpose for LFPA+ funds is to procure seafood from local tribal fishermen and distribute to Lummi Nation eligible tribal members. The Lummi Nation’s treaty fishing rights have been reserved as signatories to the Point Elliot Treaty of 1855. All fishermen that exercise these rights commercially are essentially small business owners and are limited for various reasons to a handful of market buyers.

USDA Announces Appointments to National Sheep Industry Improvement Center Board of Directors

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced the appointment of one producer and one expert in finance and management to each serve as members on the National Sheep Industry Improvement Center Board of Directors. The newly appointed members will serve three-year terms from January 2025 to January 2028.

Organic Dairy Product Promotion Program

Program Purpose

The Organic Dairy Product Promotion Program (ODPP) aims to increase domestic consumption of organic dairy products to children and young adults and diversify dairy products offered at learning institutions and other youth and young adult focused program sites. ODPP projects will build partnerships with, and networks of, businesses involved in organic dairy product production and distribution within Dairy Business Innovation Initiative (DBI) regions.
